Designed between Berlin and Austin, the Mask sconces and Horn hooks are sand cast in aluminum recycled from automotive scrap. Each of the five ‘Mask’ fixtures is made using a single wooden ‘stamp’ - each formwork constructed by imprinting the template in petrobond sand, which is rebuilt and redefined after the sand is disrupted by the extraction of the pattern. The variation of each cast is a manifestation of this process of impression, extraction, and repair.
